Our country’s changing demographics are creating a workforce that is more diverse than ever. In this dynamic new environment, the boards of nonprofits, foundations, commissions, and corporations must be more inclusive and more representative of the communities and customers they serve. Diverse governing boards help institutions better align themselves with there communities, improve strategic thinking and decision-making, and expand networks of dedicated talent.

AABLI is ready to help you strengthen and diversify your board by referring professionals who have successfully completed our rigorous Board Leadership Certificate Program.

As a Partner Organization, you will benefit from:

Who’s Eligible

Nonprofits, foundations, commissions, organizations, and corporations who 1) have bylaws in place, 2) provide liability insurance for their directors and officers, 3) furnish job descriptions for board members, and 4) observe board structure (meeting schedule, etc.)

How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Partner Organization of the African American Board Leadership Institute. We encourage you to fill out an interest form. We will use the information provided to contact you and provide the next steps.

While Partnership is currently offered at no cost, there is a one-time nominal non-refundable administrative fee due upon completion of the Partner Organization application.

We partner with nonprofit organizations that seek ethnic diversity and experience on their boards.

We work to match our alumni with these vital, active organizations.

AABLI’s Partner Organization Network is currently offered at no cost, there is a one-time nominal non-refundable administrative fee due upon completion of the Partner Organization application.

The process is based on human interaction so a set timeline does not exist. We encourage our partner organizations to attend as many networking events, workshops and seminars so they may engage with our alumni in-person (when we resume in person opportunities).

Absolutely not! The more referrals we can provide the greater impact we can make. We hope that you are so satisfied with the caliber of individuals that we refer that your organization will be open to recruiting more alumni for your board.

At this time, there is no guarantee about placement. AABLI facilitates connections amongst Alum and AABLI’s Partner Organizations. If a particular alum is not a great fit, AABLI is happy to support an organization with referring other candidates.
